Romería de la Virgen de la Cabeza

La Solana's Fiesta takes place the last Sunday in April.

Officially known as the Virgin of the Cebeza (head) this is a religious celebration. A service commences in the village of Castril around 10.30am, then the Virgin is carried from Castril up to La Solana (arriving approximately 11.30-12pm) and she is placed in the church. People come to celebrate by way of a fiesta that is normally followed by paella and beer (2007 was a slightly different experience, with tapas and beer being served)!

A further procession takes place at 7pm, then the evening gets under way with live music, dancing and more drinks.

This takes place each year normally between the end of July and beginning of August for 7 days
