The biggest celebration here in Castril and very popular with the locals and is very well known with tourists from throughout Andalucia as well. The festival begins the first sunday of October and lasts the whole week.

The festival is in honour of the Virgen Rosario and Santo Cristo Del Consuelo.

The first 4 days of the Festival are mainly religious. The last three days Friday, Saturday and Sunday conclude with the traditional running with the bulls in the Square of Hernando de Zafra from 4.30pm - 8pm).

The bulls are not killed during these runs and return to their enclosure at the end of the run.

Each evening following on from the run there is dancing in the square.

A disco is held in marquee at the school each evening. This goes on until around 5am.
